'The wisdom of God has ordained a way for the love of God to deliver us from the wrath of God without compromising the justice of God' [John Piper]

About this site

Hi, thanks for visiting!

This web site was prompted, in part, by a quote by French philosopher and aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who said
“If you want to build a ship, don’t drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea.”

Applying the same logic to God, a parallel quote could be
“If you want to draw people to God, don’t preach about sin, going to church and doing good works. Instead teach them to yearn for the mighty, awesome and Holy God, majestic in power and strength”.

It is my hope that by reading the pages on this website you will get a sense of the majesty, the awesomeness, the immensity of God, and the incredible love He has for you.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. (Revelation 4:11)

My only goal is to encourage and guide readers to consider God, to seek Him, and start to realise the unfathomable depths of who he is, and comprehend how incredible the invitation is that God extends to you to enter into a relationship with Him..

I do not want to draw attention to myself. However I am aware that having some background of the writer can help when reading any media content. So, my name is Peter, I have been married to an incredible woman for over 20 years, and we have five fantastic children, who bring much pleasure to our lives (in addition to many character building opportunities!). We live in Queensland, Australia, along with one dog, two overweight guinea pigs, nine chickens, one pretend rooster (long story!) and a handful of rats who freeload off the chicken’s food.

I particularly enjoy reading the books of A W Tozer, and have applied some of his wisdom into the articles on this web site. I would strongly recommend his books “The pursuit of God” and “Knowledge of the Holy”. Among the many other writers I enjoy reading include Brother Yun, John Piper, and Jerry Bridges. The music and lyrics of MercyMe, Jeremy Riddle, Casting Crowns, Todd Agnew and Chris Tomlin have also had major influences during my journey. I tend to gauge the quality of a writer or musician by how much they point me to God and build my motivation to seek Him with all of my being. Of course, all these writers and musicians pale in comparison with reading God’s word, the Bible.

Finally, in case you were wondering, I generate no financial income from this website. This is not a commercial enterprise, rather it is my humble offering to God in the hope that He will use it to bring glory to His name.

I hope you can take the time to have a look around, and would love to hear from you.

God’s invitation has changed my life, and is continuing to do so. My prayer is that God’s invitation will change your life as well as you walk this journey.

Peter.

You’ve received the invitation. You’ve learnt a bit about what the journey is about. You’re willing to believe that the claims of Jesus are true, and starting to realise that this journey of knowing God through Jesus could be worthwhile.

So what now? “Where do you start?”.

This journey is similar in many ways to a marriage. […]
